Docker Compose

TryOpenTrace includes two Compose files:

• docker-compose.yml includes Garage (S3-compatible storage).
• docker-compose.dev.yml runs without Garage.

Install Docker

Make sure Docker and Docker Compose are installed.

1. Start everything

docker compose up --build

This starts:

• API server on http://localhost:8080
• Postgres on 5432
• Redis on 6379
• Garage on 9000 (admin console at 9001)

2. Verify health

http://localhost:8080/_health
http://localhost:8080/_health/ready

3. Open web app

Run web app locally and visit http://localhost:3001.

Dev-only compose

docker compose -f docker-compose.dev.yml up --build

Default credentials

Postgres:

database: tryopentrace
user: tryopentrace
password: postgres

Garage (if enabled):

Uses pre-configured admin token for authentication. See the storage documentation for details.

This starts:

• API server on http://localhost:8080
• Postgres on 5432
• Redis on 6379
• RustFS on 9000 (console at 9001)

2. Verify health

http://localhost:8080/_health
http://localhost:8080/_health/ready

3. Open the web app

Run the web app locally and visit http://localhost:3001.

Dev-only compose

docker compose -f docker-compose.dev.yml up --build

Default credentials
