Requirements

Local development

• Docker and Docker Compose
• Bun (optional, for running apps locally)

Ports used

• 8080 for the API server (container port 3000)
• 3000 for the web app when running locally
• 5432 for Postgres
• 6379 for Redis
• 9000 and 9001 for RustFS (optional for sourcemaps)

Environment variables

Copy the root .env.example if you want to customize defaults. The Docker Compose files provide sane defaults so you can usually start without changes.

If you run the apps directly, set these:

• Server: DATABASE_URL, REDIS_URL, BETTER_AUTH_SECRET, BETTER_AUTH_URL, CORS_ORIGIN
• Web: VITE_SERVER_URL
