Quickstart

Get TryOpenTrace running locally with Docker Compose, then send your first event.

1. Start the stack

From the repo root:

docker compose up --build

This brings up:

• API server: http://localhost:8080
• Postgres: localhost:5432
• Redis: localhost:6379
• RustFS (optional storage): http://localhost:9000

2. Run the web app

In another terminal:

bun install
bun run dev:web

Open http://localhost:3001 and create an organization and project.

3. Copy your DSN

Visit:

/{orgSlug}/projects/{projectSlug}/setup

Copy the DSN shown in the setup card.

4. Send a test event

bun add @sentry/browser

import * as Sentry from "@sentry/browser";

Sentry.init({
  dsn: "http://<publicKey>@localhost:3000/<projectId>",
});

Sentry.captureException(new Error("TryOpenTrace is running"));

You should see the event in the Issues view within a few seconds.
